About Us Hindu College, Sonepat was established in the year 1956 and in 1958 it carved out a niche for itself in the former composite Punjab State in the form of a creditable institution when its student Ramdhan Singh topped the merit list of Intermediate examination (F.A) conducted by the Panjab University, Chandigarh to which this college stood affiliated at that time. Ever Since, the college has maintained the high tradition. Its record of examination results has remained unbeaten by any other institution in Haryana in terms of pass percentage. It is the only college in this region that has provision for teaching post-graduate classes in all the three streams, viz., Arts, Commerce and Science. Around seventy well-qualified, scholarly teachers of whom 22 have Ph.D/ D. Litt. and 19 M. Phil. degrees provide instruction to 1748 students. Education in Humanities. Commerce, Science, Electronics, Computer and business Administration is imparted. Our achievements have been impassive from the very beginning when the college was affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh. It has given a number of reputed and dedicated doctors, engineers, administrators, lawyers and public servants to society.

The city of Sonepat is located at a distance of 35 Kms. from the capital of the country. The College building is situated in the heart of the city and is very close to the Railway Station.

A massive double-story structure with spacious and well-ventilated lecture theatres, a magnificent auditorium, a well-equipped modern seminar hall with L.C.D Projector an impressive library block, aesthetically-appealing layout with sprawling lawns-all these provide congenial atmosphere for academic pursuits. Some seventy teachers provide instruction to around 2000 students. The college has a large playground at Gohana Road, where infrastructure for playing various games exists. Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) also maintains a center in our College. Hindu College, Sonepat is the recognized center for research in English, Hindi and Commerce subjects for which facilities, viz., requisite faculty and study material are available in the college.

It is managed by the above-mentioned society which runs 17 other educational, technical, management and engineering institutions where more than 20000 students are getting education every year. Besides, it also runs a full-fledged modern hospital. The management is fully dedicated to the cause of education and spares no effort to add to the glory of the institutions.

The results of the session 2009-10 show 32 students of our college in the Merit List of M.D.University. During the session 2009-10 four of our students topped the university whereas three students got second positions.

The college is administered by the Hindu Education & Charitable Society, which took up its first public welfare project in the form of establishment of S.M.Hindu High School, Sonepat in the year 1914. at present, the society is managing the following institution at Sonepat:-

All institutions managed by the society are well-equiped and have their separate campuses. The society possesses more than 250 bighas of prime land at Sonepat. It owns several commercial properties in the form of shops, bank buildings, storage godowns, residential colonies, hostels & hospitals. Our society is managerially efficient and alive to changes that are taking place in the world.
